Proton Mail email domains

Proton Mail addresses can have four different email domains — but not all of them are currently available for new accounts.

If you have a paid Proton Mail subscription, you can also create email addresses with your custom domain.

@proton.me (eric.norbert@proton.me)

This is the default domain for new Proton Mail accounts.

@protonmail.com (eric.norbert@protonmail.com)

If you prefer, you can select this domain instead of @proton.me when you create your account. @protonmail.com can also be used for additional addresses.

@pm.me (eric.norbert@pm.me)

If you’re on a paid Proton Mail plan, you can activate this domain and use it alongside your @proton.me or @protonmail.com address.

@protonmail.ch (legacy)

This is our original Proton Mail domain.

It’s no longer available for new email addresses. But if you joined Proton before 2016, you’ll have an additional @protonmail.ch email address.
